Holiday Hair

With holidays upon us I'm feeling festive and that means lots and lots of colour. I'm back on my red hair tip and I'm super excited about it. My love affair for colourful hair began when I was in high school and it still lingers on. Firstly because it makes one stand out, secondly red heads have more fun so I've heard and have come to believe and lastly it really brings out a part of my personality which I love - fiery fierceness. For this look I used Vega Hair and any standard braid can be used for the side plaiting. I saw this look on an international celebrity which gave me hair envy and I had to try it out. Hope you like it. What looks will you be trying out this holiday?

Shades of White

I’m starting to like white – it has a certain elegance and expensive glow to it – usually associated with the elite few, socialites and celebrities. I believe however, if won correctly and done right – white is the way to go for everybody. Whether it’s on casual days off or an elegant upclass soirĂ©e – white is your go to colour. With summer in full force you will be seeing this shade out just as much too. I’m definitely going to be adding more white shades to my closet this season and you should too. Have a look at some of my favourite white ensembles and feel free to share yours with me.
Thanks for passing by

How to make homemade strawberry cheese cake

I hope you’re in the mood to cook. Got this yummy recipe lined up for you and your loved ones.
Please let me know how it goes.

200g vanilla cream biscuits
200g chocolate cream biscuits
125ml butter, melted
250 mil cream
15ml castor sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence
250 ml cream cheese
2tsp gelatine
3 Tbsp strawberry jam

Crush biscuits, leaving some chunky bits and mix in melted butter. Place in a medium pie dish. Pat down and put in fridge.

In a bowl combine cream, sugar, vanilla essence and cream cheese. Beat together until smooth. Prepare the gelatine according to package instruction and add to mixture. Pour this onto the biscuit base.

Heat strawberry jam in microwave and swirl or smooth over mousse mixture. Refrigerate for 4 or more hours/ overnight. Serve cold.

DIY Denim hearts

Hi everybody, so I know I’ve been MIA on the blog front for a minute now; I apologise. Handling school, volunteering and all hasn’t been that easy. I’m excited to be writing this post though because I had so much fun with it. My nails on the other hand weren’t too happy as I got paint all over them but it was worth it in the end. My jeans look cute and different. All I needed was an old pair of jeans, a piece of paper to draw the hearts on and fabric paint which I got for just under $4. I probably would have stashed these jeans away, but with cash being tight and all I decided to bring new life to them. You however, can draw whatever shape you want and paint onto the jeans. I really hope you like these as much as I do. Don’t forget to comment.

Love you lots

Desiderata

I love art especially when it’s merged with fashion. It has a way of reflecting what‘s deep within someone and putting it out there on a canvas for all to see. In my opinion that’s bravery. Art can be spontaneous, confrontational, vulnerable and almost always takes you on a mental journey. I recently attended an art exhibition hosted by Fadzi Kadenhe and perfectly titled Desiderata. Desiderata is Italian for desired things. Whether they be desires of the heart, the mind or the body, Fadzi truly outdid herself. The artwork was skilfully crafted and was cohesive with the theme of desired things. I wanted some for myself as well. The bursts of colour, the lips that drew me in and the infusion of fashion definitely left a mark on me and everyone else in attendance. Other highlights for me were the inclusion of poetry by the talented radical poet Younique and the speech by Guest of Honour, Jazz, Funk and Pop artist Vera who said, “There’s a poem in each and every one of us”. As a creative myself I was in full agreement of this. This exhibition has ignited a desire within me to explore the many faces of artistic expression.
