The Village Greek is a cosy little eatery where their good food goes straight to the heart. They serve Mediterranean dishes cooked with quality ingredients which embody authentic flavours and tastes from Greece. I was left longing for their food days after I left. I’m a big fan of food that’s fresh, filling and full of flavour.  Out of all the places I’ve gone to eat so far this one comes out tops for their quality food. It really reminded me why I love food and why I love to write about it. I think it’s the perfect place for a date, if you’re out with a group of your friends and if you just want to grab something filling, tasty and quick (they do take-out too) – this place is for you.

Our food rundown included Souvlaki Kalamaki – Kebabs, which I chose - this included 2 skewers of chicken kebabs served with village bread. The chicken was succulent and flavoursome. Trust me it got better with each bite. Other options for the kebabs are bifketi, pork or haloumi.  We also ordered a side plating of Patatakia – chips with a sprinkling of oregano which was a decent portion of chips and Horiatiki – traditional village salad with tomatoes, cucumber, red onions, feta and olives. I love a good fresh salad – plus I’m a big feta fan –must be the saltiness of it.

My foodie partner had Skara Sti Pita - Grills in a pocket less pita. It was a filling portion of grilled beef gyro wrapped in warm pita bread with tzatziki, tomatoes, onions and chips. The different combinations blended well together. I had a couple of bites and I was hooked. It was the tastiest pita I had ever had and that tzatziki was just heavenly. The taste of chips, juicy tomato, crunchy onions, tender beef and mind –blowing tzatziki all wrapped together in one was such a delight. I could eat that beef gyro pita for the rest of my life and not get tired. Trust me it was that good.

The Village Greek is definitely a place I’d go back to.

August–Must haves

So I’ve been looking around for pieces that will be perfect for this season and I thought I’d share with you what’s on my radar and why it’s a total must –haves

I’ve been stalking fashion and style grams for a minute now and the one thing that keeps popping up is sunglasses – mirrored sunglasses to be exact – and I’m all in on this must –have not only do they protect your eyes from the sun – they make you look cooler and stylish – who doesn’t want to look cool and stylish? Plus Anna Wintour always wears glasses {even if they ain’t mirrored sunnies] – if you don’t know who Anna Wintour is you owe it to yourself to Google her.  You can get yours at Inceptio Shop

I’ve never really been a fan of sneakers. I’m kind of a high heels and flats kind of girl. But millennials are hugfe on kicks and these Addidas kicks have got me changing my mind. Paired with denims or joggers.  I smell a love affair brewing. Get them at Jan Jam.

Pearls have my attention
Pearls can lean towards being tacky or rich and luxurious. I say look at the images below to pick something that leans towards the latter. Get yours at Glamourize

Skirts with pleats
These are reminiscent of another era but still work perfectly well in 2016. I’m loving just below the knee and midi –lengths for this must – have piece. Go for modern looks with it – choose one in metallic silver or rose gold or lean towards whimsical romantic by going for deep reds – or blush tone pieces.

Cute summer dresses. What’s summer without dresses? Colourful, bright and detailed dresses are a total must –have. I’m also feeling long bohemian dresses with the right accessories this look is perfect for summer .Check out local stylist Samantha’s page on facebook Maison de Marsia

Finally you must have attitude. Never leave the house without your confidence.
